Oh, this is embarrassing.
I have been given a nice plug by Dervala Hanley, who has been kind enough to correspond with me on occasion, and whose blog is, simply put, better than mine.
I don’t want this to devolve into a nauseating session of reciprocal back-patting, so suffice to say that I regularly hit the refresh button on Dervala’s web site and study her posts jealously.
It would be wrong to suggest that Dervala’s site was the inspiration for this one. I stumbled into blogging as a way of solving the travel-update problem, and adamstein.org has been around for a while. But it would be fair to say that her web site served as an eye-opening demonstration that an online journal can be more than a well executed and crashingly dull recitation of the day’s events. (I hope I don’t presume too much about this site.)
