We began our trip in Ushuaia, an Argentinian port town on the southernmost tip of Tierra del Fuego, with the intention of arranging passage to Antarctica.  The Antarctica quest was a failure, but Ushuaia proved to be a pleasant (if not exactly thrilling) place to spend a week.
