Lago de los Guanacos sits in the scooped-out glacial basin below this pass.  The scree slopes descending to the lake are steep enough that you can ski down in your boots.  Afterwards, your boots look like they have been chewed by a wild animal, but nonetheless scree skiing is pure fun.
